We met at University in January many years ago and our lives became infinitely better immediately. The next day, it snowed and Helen gave Lindi her gloves. We both love snail mail and each have multiple penpals. (Even though we live together now, we still write each other letters sometimes.)
We spend our evenings reading, baking, scrapbooking, making cards, crocheting rag rugs and making jewelry while watching Law & Order: SVU, Downton Abbey, Bones, The X-Files, Being Human or any of our other Netflix-fueled TV obsessions. (We both really like crime shows, the BBC and shows about the supernatural, as evidenced by the above list.)
We often spend our weekends (and some of our weeknights!) taking photos. We both think the best time of day to photograph is when the sun starts to go down and the air is golden. Lindi likes winter the best; Helen prefers fall.
We both love to travel, camp and hike. Our shared favorite book is The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger. The library is one of our favorite places to go together. We both love Thai food, though Lindi takes it spicy and Helen would prefer a negative number on the spiciness scale because she's a wimp. Lindi's favorite drink is a gin gimlet. Helen thinks gin is gross and tastes like pine trees and would prefer an amaretto sour, thanks.

We have two kittens- Elsie Mae and Atticus Maxwell. They are about as polar opposite as they could possibly be: Elsie is part Siamese and a total snob while Atticus is pretty much a constantly-moving blur of not very smart cuddliness. They are pretty awesome.
We took this picture using sparklers one fourth of July and it took about a zillion tries to actually get a photo that looked like a heart:
