In the "This week in photos" post for this week, I promised a how-to on this adorable craft. I got the idea from Make it Do. They made it as a Valentine's craft, but I wanted to make it for Lindi just for fun as a surprise. The original craft called for plain red paper, black licorice for the wick and a pipe cleaner to wrap around the candy. I used red ribbon instead, and I couldn't find a single sheet of plain red paper at the craft store, so I used this one (that says 'love' on it in cursive over and over) instead.
Pretty cute, right? All I did, following their tutorial, was take the outer wrapper off three packages of Rolo candies, wrap them in red paper and tape a short piece of red ribbon to one of them for the fuse. I stuck a folded piece of tape in the middle to hold them together and wrapped the ribbon around all three with a little tag that said 'You're the bomb!'
And then, of course, we had dessert. Lindi shared with me. Yum!
